Happy New Year, everyone!
In 2020, the world was rocked by the Covid pandemic, Colorado's forests were devastated by rampant wildfires, kids were in and out of school, jobs were lost or redefined, and families and friends were unable to get together, but we survived.
For me, the worst and best parts of the year both came at the very end when my kitty stopped eating right before Christmas and I spent the holiday fretting over the vet's advice to put her down as her health deteriorated. Luckily, after a week of careful care, I was able to coax her to start eating again and we seem to be through the worst of it. Who knows how long she'll last (she has cancer), but I'll take what I can get.
Aside from all that drama, I published books 3 and 4 of my Magicsmith series and finished writing book 5. My aunt and uncle retired and moved to Colorado (from New Hampshire) with my cousin. My family (with the exception of my cat) has remained healthy, though we've miss getting to see each other regularly. Hopefully, with the distribution of the vaccine, we'll have a much more normal 2021. I know a lot of people had significant troubles in 2020, but today is the start of a brand new year that will offer its own challenges and rewards. Let's all try to make 2021 a great year!
