When I originally dreamed up my Magicsmith series, well before I typed a single word, I estimated that it would take me five books to tell Alex's story. Imagine my excitement when readers loved my world enough to ask for more! And so, I sketched out the plans for five MORE books.

I sometimes think of this series in terms of the "Revelations" arc and the "Revolutions" arc. With the first five books focused on confronting Alex with hard personal truths, Magicsmith Book 5 (Of Mettle & Magic) culminates in a fundamental shift in the balance of Alex's life, her understanding of magic, and her place in the world.

Chaos Song, Magicsmith Book 6, then takes Alex's adventure to another level as her trials become less about her as an individual and more about the larger stage of which she has become an integral part and the changes she and her misfit friends create on a global scale.
